Microsoft has given me two licenses of the "MSDN Premium and Visual Studio Team Suite" subscription. They told me to give them away and I thought of creating a small (and easy to do) competition to select the people who get the two licenses (worth $ 11,000 each one).

The last and final part in adding in some new functionality into a complex project! I'll be adding in a new control and finally after about an hour of work, I'll finally be able to test out the work I've done. As you'll witness, even the pro's make mistakes and need to debug.

For a side project I've been working on for Coding4Fun, I needed to use the Facebook Developer Toolkit, however it didn't have the Facebook API integrated that I needed in it.

In this 4 part series, you'll see me track down add in the Set Status ability into the toolkit, track down everything needed to add in that functionality, debug, create a test application, and finally getting it working.

For once, something that sounds too good to be true really is this good and really is true. Starting today (or soon in some areas), students worldwide will be able to download our professional development and design tools for free! It's called DreamSpark and it is upon us.

We got a few minutes with the guy himself, Mr. Bill Gates, to talk about his thoughts on this student opportunity. We also discussed the fast pace of technology and how students can best deal with that. Finally, I gave him a chance to think about what he would do if he were 17 years old again and starting up the next big company. His answer was--are you sitting down because this one was a real shocker--software!

We figured since one 8er already won a PC and another 8er won a Zune, we should hook you guys up with something cool too... I better see some smiles in the comments! :)

Pessoal,

Estava eu revisando o conteudo do MSDN Wiki Brasil (no qual sou um dos moderadores) e me deparei com esse tópico Programação com objetos: Usando classes, ai pensei, "poxa que excelente material para quem está começando! e o melhor , de graça!!!"
Uma vez o amigo André Furtado estava falando disso, sabe de pararmos um pouco de gerar conteudo e começarmos a buscar os existentes! Me lembrei dessa frase dele porque vejo muita gente tentando "reinventar a roda" em vez de colaborar com conteudo existente... tipo esse do MSDN Wiki! Como é no formato Wiki qualquer pessoa pode colaborar e ajudar! Então o que esta esperando para mostrar isso para sua Célula ou Grupo de Usuários? Vamos COLABORAR e pensar no COLETIVO!

Extending Visual Studio with VSX

Stewart Kent from Microsoft UK told us on how to extend Visual Studio for your own needs. We spoke also about the Visual Studio Shell that is being introduced by the VSX team (Visual Studio Extensibility) with VS 2008. He's also giving us some hints on the roadmap that the VSX team is following in the next years: they want it to make a lot easier for developer to write addins and extensions for Visual Studio.
