I know that many of you have been asking for Information Technology (IT) related demos.  So first off, let me point you toward one of our sister sites: TechNet Edge.  It is constantly being updated with really great deep dives, demos, and other IT related information.  I know it can be daunting sometimes... so I had another chat with Stefan, the Mega-Microsoftie.

He dives int TechNet Virtual labs, a freely available tool that allows you to dynamically provision virtual server instances that you can interact with all within your Internet browser.  Why is this cool?? Well you guys want the latest technology?  Check.  Want to run 6 simultaneous servers including a Domain Controller, Active Directory, Windows Server 2008?  Done.  Oh and did I mention... again... it's FREE.

Do a search on live.com for "TechNet Virtual Labs" and it will be one of the first results (I would link you but my result is the English-US version).

PS: stay tuned after the closing for a look at a fun piece of hardware Stefan has on his desk... cool eh?

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME video Max! Even though nothing can really compare to deploying bits onto the metal, I'm sure our Community will embrace the opportunity to play with WS08 in a VM based environment. A great compliment to my latest Article. Thanks Max!

P.S.-Where can I get the sexy Keyboard Stefan is rocking? Granted, my production machine is a Laptop, but I'm sure I'll find some use for it.

Haha... thanks, Josh.  I'm glad you like it Smiley

I'm not sure where you can get those keyboards, may not even be a production unit really..... but maybe it is??  I will ask Stefan.
Yeah AWESOME! really enjoy these series

BOOM! Big Smile
Anyone want to make a special "Stefan Talks about Stuff He's Got Nothing to Do With" intro??
Actually, the keyboard and mouse are released:

While I wish I could claim some x-factor here, alas it is not to be...
This is probably the coolest thing of the week for me Wink
