Our Lloyd (the one who you might know from the forums here on Channel 8) has created an awesome tutorial series on how to create stuff in Microsoft Expression Blend.

These tutorials are an introduction to the world of Expression Blend, a User Interface designing application. It allows you to design user interfaces and ship them off to a backend developer who then attaches the code to it. No longer do your applications have to look “Developer Good” – make them look “Designer Good”!

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

He told me that he is going to do more! Check out his website and blog for more to come!

Nice work Lloyd... Expression Blend is an excellent tool for both WPF and Silverlight. XAML is easy, but nobody want to write hundreds of lines of it when Blend does it for you.

Thanks Smiley

I hope you all enjoy them. Anything you guys would like to see? Part 5 should be coming soon Big Smile

(as for the "more" Christian tells you about, I plan on doing a complete cover of all the Expression products, then maybe move on from there Smiley)
I have been using Blend with a while so I am good, but I think a tutorial on animation, timelines etc... would maybe get some of the new guys interested...

I've definately got Animation on the cards, coming around Tutorial Part 7/8!

<shameless plug>

Also, if anybody here actually gets anything out of these tutorials, I'd love if you could send me something over PayPal - I've noticed that my 1GB of RAM just isn't up to running Word (where I do my PDFs), Corel (Images, snapshots etc) and Expression(this one's obvious) at the same time so I'm trying to raise £30 to get me some new OCZ 2GB sticks! I'd go for 4GB but my motherboard will only support 2GB in dual channel Sad

Let me know if you can donate, I'd love to continue doing these tutorials, but it's just proving to be a slow experience.

</shameless plug>

(too late for an april fools joke, but I should've done this sooner Tongue Out)

Again, thanks for the suggestion!

Tell you what Llyod, you give me your bank account number and pin number and I will see what I can do Smiley

Sorry, just to clarify, I wasn't actually expecting money, hence why I didn't give anybody my PayPal details etc. I was just kidding Smiley

I can actually afford the sticks'n'I'll be buying them in a couple of days Smiley

Pity it's not April 1st Sad

Instead of system, can we have a seperate section for track/ping-backs? I think it'd look better.

G'day meladdies! We now have part 5 up and running, available at:

http://www.lloydhumphreys.com/content/tutorials/blend/Learning%20Expression%20Blend%20Part%205.pdf

Oh, and the resources!

This tutorial goes much deeper into the actual workings of the C# behind the application, and drops you into a practical usage scenario, in the form of a little music player. Hope you enjoy it!
