Many of you astute observers have realized that Channel 8 has undergone a few changes throughout the week. A new graphical design, a streamlined menu structure, a back-end overhaul, and probably one of your favorite features: forums. There is in fact an entire development team dedicated to making all the community sites you love so much (see new footer at the bottom of the page).

To talk about some of the design elements that were part of this transition, I sat down with David Shadle, the Design Mastermind behind this community network, and talked about why he made some of the choices and design in general. He even talks about the possibility of a C8 mascot you guys have been asking for!

Now I know who did the "Nine" guy. Very cool. I like the new design and I can only imagine the countless hours and late nights you spent working on it....it's definitely noticable and very refreshing. Keep up the great work.
YAY my icon was the first he pointed at Big Smile (@9:35)

And oh,  nice video Smiley

David designed the original C9 and is one of the best deigners I've ever met. Why? Because he puts the user front and center when he dreams up usability.
