I was watching the Steve Ballmer and Guy Kawasaki keynote from MIX08 when I saw something that literally made me jump out of my chair and shout "NOOOO WAAAAY! NIIIICE!" It was your very own Nikita Polyakov thanking Steve B. for DreamSpark and continuing on to ask what we plan to do to help students host their applications. Nikita even went further to ask how we will deliver this kind of content to students worldwide.

Of course my favorite part is towards the end when Steve recommended searching for content on Live, Nikita responded "We're doing it, Channel 8."

Nikita, you just went up a notch in my book. That puts you at notch 1 Wink

Superb job Nikita! Did you get to talk with steveb in person? He is that kind of person with a powerful look, I like a lot his lectures because he is able to concentrate all his energy in a certain period of time. Being Microsoft's CEO, I am sure that Microsoft will always have that energy and passion for stay in the top.

Regarding students, I am sure he is passionate about Channel 8 (maybe he is even a 8er, right? Big Smile ), I have heard him saying that we, students, are the future of Technology... also the future of Microsoft.

This time, 8ers, I have to disagree with your stance.

Clearly I believe that students should have access to as much content as possible that can help them further their education, experience, and understanding. However, these sorts of conferences are more aimed at industry professionals and therefore those are the people expected to attend. Can a student learn something from these events? Sure. But are they the target audience? I personally do not think so.

I'm very glad Nikita is there to help share the happenings with you all. But I believe there is no lack of online content available--especially visitmix.com for this kind of stuff--and I therefore understand why there were not any responses to Nikita's calling out to students at the conference.

Bravo Nikita is nice to have a team member like u, and great u mentioned channel 8, now we have to work harder to make this site work!!!!!
I don't know where did u get the courage to ask him those questions!!! u are right they dont give the students participation, and web can download the keynotes and the videos but... it is not the same!!!
