TechNet Plus - contact information? [TechNet Plus - contact information?]

I know I already have a thread on a similar theme but this is about getting in contact with someone...... ANYONE who can pick up a damn phone or reply to an e-mail about TechNet subscriptions! I've been trying since Monday to phone the number listed for the UK on the contact page but it constantly, and I mean every single time I try, rings out after 2 minutes of nobody answering. The e-mail I sent which stated 2 business days for a reply has now gone past 2 business days without reply and I'm still sitting here no nearer a clue as to what's going on since the status page for my order hasn't budged since Friday.

Has anyone been as unfortunate as me and had similar problems? If so, what did you do and who did you contact? At this point I'm pretty much set on cancelling my order, which is a shame, all because I cannot get a single word reply from anybody. Before it's pointed out, yes I know they could be busy but how busy do you have to be where a phone goes unanswered 3 days straight? Anyone that can help, please do :/

Anybody from the forums going? I was moved from the waiting list earlier today so will be attending, hopefully, along with someone else from college who already has his nifty little ID card. A question to anyone that's been to an event before, if I only have a confirmation number will that be enough to gain access?

Since I'm working towards a career in IT with Microsoft Windows and Server products I've been considering purchasing a TechNet plus subscription for quite a few months now but there are a few things confusing me despite reading the FAQs so if anyone has one or can clarify the items below I'd appreciate it a lot. For the purposes of this post I'm talking about the Operating System subscriptions only.

MSDN are mainly aimed at developers whereas TechNet Plus seems to be aimed at people who test and deploy systems, perhaps administrators planning and testing a deployment. Would that be a fair description of the two?

TechNet Plus is evaluation but without time limits or restrictions, what I'm not sure about here is why label it as such? Is it not the same as MSDN software? You download it, burn to DVD (or use some other method, maybe network installation) and install then enter a product key. How is that any different or is it not different at all? The word evaluation can have different meanings depending on how Microsoft intend it, a bit like prizes with time limits (see my other thread if you don't know what I'm talking about).

Basically I'm just looking for some clarification on these points so if anyone can help it'd be appreciated :)

I took part in the Virtual Launch Experience for, among other things, Windows Server 2008 because I didn't think I'd be able to make any of the roadshows much to my disappointment. I thought the experience was pretty good overall and spent time looking through all of the information there then later on, almost as a passing though, I entered the prize draw competition. Imagine my surprise when I got back this morning from doing weekend food shopping to find this waiting for me! As the subject says I am over the moon when I realised what it was.

I realise it isn't the best picture in the world but I only used my phones camera. In case it isn't legible it includes SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and best of all Windows Server 2008. I'm still a little in shock, so much so I haven't opened the software up yet.

**Many edits later** Oh what I'd give for an "insert image" option.

Software availability for students [Software availability for students]

I'm aware of, and have made use of the Dreamspark software but was wondering what other ways there are of students obtaining either cheaper or possibly even free (legitimate) Microsoft software. I'm sure I'm not the only student that has cashflow problems but a desire to use their products but so far the only ways I know of obtaining software are Dreamspark, TechNet Plus and MSDN. While I'm very grateful for Dreamspark and the opportunity it brings for experimentation and further study it's currently limited and the other two cost a fair amount of money that I just don't have :/ So basically I'm wondering if there are other offers or deals around that aren't widely known, if you know of any feel free to share!

I asked this in another forum (oops) before noticing this one! I've seen Server 2008 mentioned and was wondering what, if you're able to tell us, future software we can look forward to. Personally, as I'm studying towards an MCSA (3 exams down, 2 to go - 620 and 291) I'm very glad to be able to get more hands on time with a full version of Server 2003 but I also know the college will likely be running Server 2008 courses from September so that would be ideal for exploring. I'm not sure what else I'd like to see here, just curious to know if there are plans and if there are, can they be shared? ;)

Dreamspark software question [Dreamspark software question]

I finally managed to verify my status today after finding login details in my college e-mail but despite looking over the FAQs I've got one question. Are the keys given for products retail or OEM? Specifically I'm referring to Windows Server 2003. Anybody know?
