I watched this movie a few minutes ago and liked it. The jokes are funny although the story followed exactly the Hollywood schema X. What's your opinion on the movie?
I saw an advert for this in the cinema on Saturday when I went to watch Iron Man with a friend. Iron Man was great, I don't think WHIV looked very good. I want to see WANTED Smiley

The tech in Iron Man was great (9/10) except for the Apple desktops being  everywhere Tongue Out ,storyline was was cool enough (7/10) . The movie could have used more fight scenes though.

Same! Wanted looks good. Iron Man was also excellent.

Most of the computers in Iron Man looked like they were using Hollywood OS (blue screened). I don't remember any Macs.

Seems i exagerated  about macs being everywhere in the ironman movie . His workstation was a mac though.

Macs are everywhere in the blockbusters. That's normal... and probably has something to do with Apple being involved in the movie industry. I found it amusing in the last Nicholas Cage movie, where the cool hacker dude used a Mac and the old, a little bit strange, father of him watched a movie on MSN video Wink

They chipped in their "i'm a mac" advert in there. hehe  Smiley

funny..
Companies pay for product placement... what gets really interesting is when the technology is so good that there is no money exchanged.. don't think Apple is in the movies because the artist's typically use Macs.. it is *all* about money exchanging hands.. welcome to Hollywood...

of note…

No money is exchanged in the Microsoft-CSI relationship, which goes well beyond traditional product placement. "We are moving to a role of technology adviser to a show," says Jay Kenny, a group product manager for lifestyle marketing and placement at Microsoft. "It's a unique collaboration we hope to see more of in the future."

Product placement in TV and movies isn't new, of course, as anyone who recalls the 1990s Seinfeld episode featuring Junior Mints can attest. More recently, NBC's 30 Rock parodied product integration with Snapple. And how often have you seen a branded beer can or Apple computer in some scene? (Apple won't discuss its product placement strategy.)

Yeah Apples theme of getting as much screen time as possible for there products has been going on for years and seems to be getting more noticeable. One of my favourite series of the past couple of years - Californication - had the main character buy both a Mac and iPod during the first few episodes. There was even a bit where he was using his old Black Dell style laptop which he replaced with a swanky new Mac from the Apple store, the imagery was very strong as it showed him toiling with his old laptop and then happy and laughing later when playing with a Mac. I wonder how much Apple had to pay for that advert
