Software by Student Partners | Student Union

Hello:
Well I want to throw an invitation for all the World Wide Microsoft Student Partners to develop a usefull and easy application, for us, starting with a simple tool to let us post our "Report Activities", then upgrade this little software with plug-ins, and then, publish this software in Codeplex for everyone.

Who said I? any ideas, suggestions, feedback?

The first thing I think was a simple WPF Application or Windows Forms but over .NET Framework 3.0 or higher to "publish" will be necesary web services, WCF wil help alot... but we will need support from the ADE's to test the services or something similar.

the name I think could be cool, is Mithra, like the persian god means "Friend" Smiley

This is easier said than done because the program varies from country to country... it's not easy to create something that works for all the different countries!

We, for example, do direct reporting without using any of the features that are available from the student partners website... the team is so small that it wouldn't make any sense to do it otherwise.

I know is not a easy stuff to get, Michio Kaku said something like that in a book a read: if at the begining an Idea is not completelly absurd, there not exists the less hope to achieve something from it ...

in Spanish was: "Si al principio una idea no es completamente absurda, no existe la menor esperanza de lograr algo a partir de ella" but is the best translation I can do...

but considering that posibility that is improbable to get it, do you have another idea that we can create? I dont know, some kind of tool...

Hmmm... right now there is nothing that comes into my mind. Still you could go the way of creating the tool for the student partners reporting. You could talk with Jen if you could integrate it into the platform once it is done.

Jen had earlier replied to one of my emails saying that she is speaking with the dev team on improving the platform. And she also added that since the dev team is busy working with other projects, its taking much time than anticipated. So, it would be good to interact with her before jumping on doing something or planning something ourselves.
