Great! I'd love to see the building(s) MSIT calls home. Admittedly, that may be more for Adam and the guys at TechNet Edge, but one can dream. :D I'd love to seee your bulding, Max and maybe some of the more interesting spots around Campus. Thanks!

I'll be honest, you're not going to get much on Windows these days.... that organization is staying pretty tight lipped.

If you want to see more MS buildings, I can handle that no problem.

Microsoft ventures into e-chemistry

Computational chemists have secured funding from computing giant Microsoft to showcase how chemistry can benefit from open access data sharing on the internet.

The two-year eChemistry pilot project represents 'a major test case' for proposed new protocols for sharing scholarly information over the web, said Lee Dirks, director of scholarly communications at Microsoft Research. Chemists across six institutions will search and index existing online databases and print archives, and work out how best to record data captured in lab experiments, so that disparate sources of information about molecules become machine-readable and searchable.

Yep. A lot of websites that need your address will just ask for your postcode and house number/name.

Works fine for me, but only if I enter a postcode from weather.msn.co.uk. If I enter a postcode on the US site, it apparently does a search of international city names (how in the world do you get D-ditz [Dědice], Vysočina, Czech Republic or Zāhedān, Sīstān va Balūchestan, Iran from DD5 xxx)?

I do like the records/averages viewable right from the front page... it's not really earth-shattering (you can get the same data from weather.com or the National Weather Service's website), but it's nice to have that available on the home page.

(note: wow, UK postcodes are really location-specific... removed the last three letters.)

http://weather.msn.com is one of those Microsoft things that no one will really notice, and is actually quite nice...:( I pray that no one will take it away. The monthly averages and records is superb and unmatched. My only complaint is the javascript stuff is much faster in Firefox 3 Beta 5 than IE :(

OK Max - we have no-one posting in the Channel 10 Forum so I'm (blatantly) stealing your idea to see if we can wake up the on10 crowd.

I came up with the highly original name of "Ask Fillo" - same deal as "Ask the Zuck" - if we get some cross over questions let's team up and see if two heads are better than one (though I'm thinking they probably aren't),...

Summer here ROCKS. http://weather.msn.com and type in 98052 as the zip code (or Redmond, WA). Check out the info about rainfall, average temperature etc. It's actually not as rainy as people say.... although cloudy quite a bit.

Hmm if you're taking questions I'd like to know if the software lineup at Dreamspark is set now or if it will be added to in the future? Any hints if there are future additions to come would be great ;)

A letters to the editor sounds good but some question answering is also good, maybe a mix of the two?
